handbrake folk stories

I've just had my handbrake redone: new brake shoes and cable assembly,
and it now works beautifully! My shoes were original (11 years / 138k
miles) and were worn right down, there was oil leaking onto one side
from the rear axle oil seal, and the cable was rusted up in its tube.
I agree that it will not *stop* the truck very quickly, but that's not
what it is for. It holds mine easily on a fair old hill. And don't
you have a warning light on the dash when you leave it on?
Oh, and is "sucking butt cheeks" a literal translation of a French
expression? (And, if so, what is it in French? Because I bet it sounds a
lot better in the original.) Or is this a new EU-approved pastime that
we will all have to perform under this new non-constitutional
constitution?

| Well hellot the guys they tell me the hand break sucks butt cheeks but
I do not want to believe it.
| So I make it rebuild with a good guy I know who have his own garage.
ALL is new even cable and it's
| grease.
|
| Guess what the handbrake still sucks butt cheeks. It is not strong
when on and you can forget it
| even easly then you drive off and burn it up! Hello some kilometres
later that smell is in your
| nose and you never did know beffore hand! Bollucks.

I quite like 'butt cheeks'. There's lots of great French phrases - 'etre
comme cul et chemise' which means to be best of friends, literally
translated means to be like bum and shirt...
I could go on but I'll get a ticking off for being off forum.
