In fairness it was a case of 9 coats of figuring out and measuring and one coat of drilling. We had to get it right as we only had 4 6mm rivnuts to do the job and finding the right materials is always like Scrapheap Challenge. We used some galvanised wall/roof ties out of the roofers skip which worked out as the pre drilled holes coincided with the slots in the awning mounting ( 50mm centres).
It was a satisfying result.
