I was in my local Homebase car wash (yeah, I know I'm a lazy git 
but there was a LOT of mud on it ) when the washerman said "do you want me to get that off", pointing at the gunge left behind when I removed a stick-on number plate from my bonnet, "yes please" I said, having tried myself with petrol lighter fuel, evostick remover, isopropol alcohol, you name it I tried it. It did take a lot of rubbing on his part, and he did get it off, but what did he use? . . . . . windscreen de-icer
