we headed over to the Isle of Skye in our Hilux for a camping weekend. It's a 4 hour drive from Aberdeenshire. Well worth it this weekend because it was forecast to be much sunnier and warmer, by about 7degC compared to East coast of Scotland.
and it was 24 degrees there today and only 16 at home

a great time there camping, fishing, hiking, kayaking, drinking beer and enjoying the sun. A breeze kept midges away for all but 10mins of the long weekend.

Great pics Andy. Looks like an amazing spot!

Lovely Andy, your rig and kit looks really well balanced and functional.

What at a lovely place Skye is, fond memories. Great to see my "home" country (UK) in all its glory.

Thanks for posting

Back in 2003 we were camping in Glen Garry and decided we'd have a run over to Skye. We got to the Kyle of Lochalsh to find out it was £11 to cross the bridge so we didn't bother. Might have a return trip now it's free. Looks a nice place for a few days camping:thumbup:

we were going to cross over to Skye a few days backand got put off by the 5 mile queue leading upto the bridge.. guess bank holiday monday tends to be popular in there :)
