Hi Niall
They have no problem fitting the parts I get, but on the invoice they always
print in bold letters supplied by customer, I presume as a get out clause.
As for the Milner parts, well they are a hell of a lot cheaper than Toyota.
Delivery to Ireland for up to 30 kgs is ?13 so I get a few bits at a time.
Their cv is about 130 euro compared to Toyota at about 600 euro I think.
I have now had two Milners CVs fitted new so if they go soon then we will
know wont we or could the fitter have an impact aswell as the actual CV.
The only way to tell is if the new CVs were stripped again and repacked by a
person who knew 100% that they were correctly packed and fitted.
But this is not going to happen in my case cause its costly enough to get
them done the first time shame really because we would have our answer would
we not.
Their exhaust is a lot cheaper too and we will see how long it lasts.
As for their brake discs well I dont know, all I know is the brakes have a
bit of shutter in them, from what I dont know.
I am replacing the pads on the front today with Toyota as ones as always so
we will see.
The original discs may have warped that is why I changed them which did
improve things a good bit.
I have been reading up on brakes and such and it would seem that a warped
disc is very unusual indeed.
You can get problems from the residue left behind from pads and if new pads
and discs are not broken in properly problems can accure.
When discs get too hot the metal can change its make up in places and along
with pad over heating gives the symptons of a shutter and brake fade.
But if its that simple to get bad brakes then I suspect most vehicles on the
road have been run in improperly by the delivery guys, the garage guys, the
mechanics, the customers etc etc.
I know for a fact when my new pads and discs were fitted the guy would not
have broken them in properly before he drove it back to me.
There is some sort of abrasive paper that you can rub on your discs which is
supossed to clean them of all residue which I will try if I can remember the
name of it.
