Jeremy's P/S central door lock

Hello Jeremy,
Have you managed to sort out the problem with the lock? I think I have.
The EUR 125 price tag on a new lock mechanism including actuator has finally
encouraged me to take the thing apart and investigate.
I think the problem was created by old grease mixed with dirt inside
the actuator. Once thoroughly cleaned and reassembled it is now
working 100%.
I did not put any new grease in the actuator and also degreased the
lock mechanism to avoid problems with dust clogging the moving parts.
Hopefully this is all there is to it.

Hi Roman
Interesting. My problem has always been that the front passenger door lock
is lazy - so did you just take that door apart and deal with that actuator?
If so, I will go out and do it asap. Be good to have it sorted.

Jeremy,
You need to remove the locking mechanism from inside the door. The
actuator is an integral part of the mechanism. Detach the levers and
undo the two bolts holding it to the edge of the door.
As for the actuator - there are several screws holding the plastic
shell together (front and back). Once opened, make sure you don't lose
the springs. When you look inside it will be self-evident, but let me
know if you get stuck with reassembly.
