After faffing about with old units, which resulted in my frying the cigarette charger for my vhf handheld, I've bought a new set from Thunderpole - the model is a K-PO 500, small unit, very simple to operate, nothing to program, and it has a scan facility, set me back £60.00
Thrown the old Maxon away, the new ones are so cheap theres no point trying to keep the old kit going.
No-one uses cb at all around here, so am going to turn my old midland into a base unit, so can talk to swmbo - our mobile phone coverage is poor.
Surprised they arent used more.
