LWB tow bar on a SWB

I've been search for a tow bar from a lwb 95 to replace my swb bar and giving up on finding a used one within a reasonable distance i started looking for a new bar only to find "fits LWB only" in the description . Any ideas why it won't fit ?

I'm a bit puzzled why they would be different for SWB and LWB models. I would assume the chassis ends would be the same on both types. How does the bottom of your SWB look Shayne, is it similar to the ones above? Any noticeable different. Here's a pic of my truck at the rear end with my tow bar. It's quite simple in how it's put together.

my 95 has the same style as your second picture,

are they not universal ?

The fuel tank guard is different between the LWB and SWB models - the LWB having longer rear brackets.

This would imply that the rear cross member is in a different place between the Short & Long models.

My LWB tow bar is reasonably long where it attaches to the chassis, therefore it may not fit a SWB.

Just putting two and two together .

Thanks for the pic Beau looks like it will fit to me Bob may have explained why the swb won't fit a lwb and sellers may have assumed it works or rather doesn't work both ways .
