Migrants in Germany cause more trouble

Lynn read somewhere that ISIS promised to 'flood Europe' months ago. Link to follow if she can find it.

How many women and children could be seen in those films? How many families fleeing persecution, war and destruction?

What will this do to Europe's tourism industry?

I was working in Munich last week. Expected to see some sign of all of this. Was through Munich Hbf (the central station) a couple of times and didn't see anyone I could identify as a refugee or migrant. Good kebab shop there though.

I haven't looked at people's Facebook links here but I've seen a lot of easily dispelled lies in my timeline in the last few weeks. Old photographs or film clips from a year or more ago and some nasty story attributed to it.

The fourth post in this thread is so offensive I really wish I hadn't seen it.

By jointly funded, you mean less than 0.5% of annual income don't you? Do you think that has a significant impact on any impartiality?

I lived and worked in munich for three years, there was also a sizeable turkish community there...

Oh sorry, i nearly missed the predictable arrival of the oh so easily offended lefty, whom will no doubt stifle any sort of debate by labeling anyone who disagrees with him/her as racist/xenophobic or any other phobic that will fit into there naive ,undemocratic, bury ones head in the sand, slant on the world...
 
I don't think the rights and wrongs of burning or mass poisoning of innocent human beings raises much of a debate, CG.

Just voicing my opinion BTW, as was Rob Cowell I imagine. Why such a hypocritical tantrum anyway? Not necessary, JMHO.

The migrant invasion of Europe is quite a serious issue and it's interesting hearing other peoples views and opinions.

I really like this forum. It's full of very helpful, friendly, generous people. I'm also with Voltaire on free speach. But if see someone citing genocide as a solution to anything I can't look away. I want to say something, as I think is reasonable on a healthy, self-moderating forum.

My view is that Europe tried to keep out of Syria for a long time. The human disaster there is destabilising the region, including Turkey. Quick decisions were taken and borders flung open. There has now been some reassessment of the situation, but ultimately without stability in Syria any amount of aid is biding time. If I was in that situation I wouldnt sit in a refugee camp for years with no visible future. I would try and find somewhere to lead a productive life until I could return home.

I'm interested in any sensible, empathetic debate on a serious situation.

With you on that Ben, that's why I didn't react to post #4.

Theres a whole rainbow of scenarios on this issue, from opportunist wasters to genuine desperate families fearing for their lives.

What confuses me is why are the host countries so afraid to uphold established law and order? It's simple, and it would be supported by Joe public, irrespective of race, or creed.

Folks get pissed off seeing such behavior, when they know they can't put a foot wrong in their own country without getting nicked.
 
The vid i posted on page 1 of this thread was found in 5 seconds of idle curiosity i was busy with other things and so forgot youtube continued to run vids while minimized until a while later by which time the vid was showing how Russia deals with the immigration crowd . The were escorted through town centre each with one hand placed on the shoulder of the man in front and the other hand on their own head not so much surrounded by police as guided .

From what i can tell the immigration crowds are generally less in number than say Heathrow airport or Dover Ferries process by the hour so my question is why these people aren't stopped processed and identified (or at least given a travelling identity) which must be produced each step of the way to wherever their destination . That simple bit of paper would ensure consequences that might have been avoided by travelling on cannot be left behind .

Oh and Elvis is NOT on the moon i seen him last week in tesco's .

It's certainly going to be interesting to see what happens.

Best case......... The countries involved are able to house and give benefits to all the migrants, at least till some of then are able to tart working. Then if/when things are a bit more stable in their home countries some of them may wish to go home.

But I have a feeling it could quite easily turn nasty! The shear number of migrants heading for Europe and already arrived in Europe is crazy! I won't be surprised if we see massive civil unrest with rioting and looting! :think:
