Having taken the truck out a few times i'd caused some damage to the rear end. The arches were rusted so there wasn't really anything holding the mud flaps and rear quarters of the bumpers up. So, amongst many things on the never ending shopping list was a big steel bumper.
Having spoken to a couple of people at Lincomb I was pointed in the direction of Mr. Lomas. After a couple of messages the deal was done and last sunday, after picking up @Rosy took a trip up t north to collect it.

It's this one, a CJ original

So after a good chinwag, a cracking breakfast and a tour of Lomas Empire we set off back down the motorway. If you read that build thread you'll see there's some work to be done to get the bumper on, So having spoken to @Chris he'd kindly offered us tea and advice so half hour later we arrived at Chris's

Long story short, he gave up his sunday and fitted it, top man, can't thank him enough.

Had to put the tyre back underneath for the journey home as I needed to sort out the number plate and lighting.
Big Big Thankyou to Chris for all his time and hard work, oh and them cakes were awesome!

I spent the week after finding the correct number plate lights for the pre drilled holes in the swing out and after taking a look at the loom underneath decided to take it to an autoelectrician to have a tidy up under there and find me the wires for the lights and the fogs. I then whipped out the soldering iron and wired the lights up I don't think its quite as Chris intended but for the time being it works. Fog light still to be done.

looks good, well done.

looks like you had fun up north..

Wow! Amazing!

We should point out two things. A. Rosy also helped B. those roof bars were not part of the bumper. Just in case anyone was wondering.

heres the led I used to alter my fog lights for tailgate storage. I can root out where I got them from if its of any use.

I really want to put a speech bubble to this picture, as to where youll stick this extension bar if you don't stop taking pictures..

I'm still undecided. I think easiest is stick it in the centre of the wheel, great for day to day use but what if i want to get one of those trasharoo things? Ive just spent the weekend driving round with a sack of rubbish in the passenger footwell. Alternatively is fix a long one next to the number plate lights, its out of the way there, anything lower runs the risk of getting bashed when i'm out playing.

I hadn't forgotten Rosy, he was great, i felt like a spare part. I kept missing turnings cos we were having such a great chat in the car.

It stood up to you super thump well. That was s proper test Nick.

Yup, thats where i changed it from video to picture by accident so no recording of that :(

Buy the bag put the lamp somewhere else.
I was unsure how handy it would be for laning/camping and it's kept all the rubbish and dirty dishes out of the 80.
Got mine from apb trading £55.

Doing it for him and feeding him cakes  you might at least have kept him busy at the BBQ

I didn't want a fog light so ended up with one of these which you could slap on the bumper Nick

That's tiny. Got one of it working?

Nice job Nick, Chris has done you proud there, it's not a particularly nice job to do, but it really looks good on the truck.

So what happened to the rear quarters, are they still there or were they cut off to allow the bumper to go underneath? Can't quite see from the photos.

Once the old bumper was off, the new one just bolts on, there was some miner fettling to the arch bits (what are they called?) as this was built for the silver phoenix which had had them removed

Have you any plans to fit the winch nick?
