Oil level light

The oil LEVEL light remains ON - troopy yr 2000 1HZ. Mechanic tested sender ok. Light comes on after about 30 secs with sender connected OR DISconnected.
Any bright ideas please?

Broken wire , I'm guessing but would it be set up so 2 wires are positive and negative and another connects to ignition switch ?
