The MOT man said my steering damper is leaking oil so I need a new one. As I saw it my options were Milner at £50 or Old Man Emu at £125. Based on my experience with Defenders I think OME gear is good stuff but often over rated. However, the SD that is on my 80 doesn't look that old (from memory) so i have decided to avoid a standard duty replacement part and pay the extra for the OME SD from Arbil 4x4. Next day delivery was a tenner which I thought was reasonable.

Hopefully I will get a couple of years of offroading out of it.

Regards

Don't buy a Milner one. It was too short for my 80. steering damper 003.JPGsteering damper 003.JPG

OME can be had from Devon 4x4 delivered for £113 if that helps as I asked last week.

Thats a good price from Devon (I've never said that before!).

It has arrived today. Not much more to say until it is fitted tomorrow. I'm not expecting an improvement as I thought it drove great with the leaky one but hopefully it will last a while longer.

Andy, where did you get your Ironman SD from? £65 seems to be a bargain at about half the price of the OME.

Regards.
