Our 3rd LC,
1. 71 FJ 40
2. 79 FJ 40
here we are at #3, 96 FJ 80, picked her up yesterday,315,000 miles on chassis, 150,000 on Engine.
blown head gasket on #6, will start to pull the head today.
body pretty clean, rust on upper rear cargo door at the bottom of the window frame(both sides)
interior not bad, needs a good cleaning and both front seats need recovered(bottom worn trough to padding)
always wanted an 80 Series, here we go.

Welcome aboard @night71 and your 80, which doesn't sound in too bad condition for a 22 year old.

Pity about the blown gasket, but with care (and assuming nothing else amiss) shouldn't be too bad a job.

I'm guessing the blown gasket helped to reduce the price and give you the opportunity to own one of the best off road capable trucks ever built.

Some more details on the truck would be nice for us nosey sorts, factory and/or after-market extras (if any) and your longer term plans for it....

And dare I say some photies... :whistle:

A thread on the engine repair may help others especially things like how you deal with the "pesky heater hose" and other such-like special features of the petrol version of this great beast...

this was a one owner Rig, they drove it off the show room floor in Santa Cruz, Ca
window sticker was with the paperwork they gave us on the LC, 49,000USD, new in 96.

If you use a hosting site for your photos (photo bucket or the like) use the picture icon in the message menu and copy the URL into it.

If you have images on your device, phone/tablet/PC/laptop then use the "Upload a File" next to the "Post Reply" button, and scroll to the photo file you want to upload.

If either of them don't work, then ask @Crispin ...
