hi all, new member here... Just bought an old 100 series 4.2 Auto and for some reason the o/d light flashes most of the time when driving. I bought an Intelligent Tester 2 in the hope that would answer the question but NO! nothing stored on the engine or ECT. It doesn't do it when sat still or moving very slowly and there is no pattern to the flashes. If anyone needs a code read from an IT2 they are welcome to pop by. It seems to drive perfectly otherwise with no apparent gearbox problems

Hi,
Is the O/D switch (the small black button on the side of the gear selector) in or out ??
It sounds as though the actuator isn't engaging/dis-engaging - but lets start by establishing the state its supposed to be in
