Having been told that my 1995 GS model is underpowered by somebody who was less than convincing when when checking the vehicle for sale, is there a simple method of finding out whether it is the case or not. The only test I have done is 40 to 60 in fourth which is in 11 seconds. This is quicker than a friends vehicle of a similar age although mine has an intercooler. What readings should appear if I took it to a garage and they use whatever they use.

The only true way to check is to have the vehicle put on a rolling road, you can then check the BHP/torque figures, extrapolate from them the flywheel horsepower and check against Mr T's specification for your model/engine/year.

Putting one car next to another is pointless, there may be differences in weight/equipment/engine condition/manual or auto and so forth.
