Hey there my name is Kory and im new to the forum.
Iv recently bought a 1989 Troopy, it has power steering on it and i took it to the beach today. After i parked the car back at home and let it sit for 2-3 hours it has developed a dysfunctional power steering mechanism.

When i steer to the left or right the steering wheel hops from easy to hard effort to turn it. also it has a little whining sound which only happened when i turned hard at max right or left.

if anyone can help me it would be much appreciated!!

Thankyou in advance

Have you got the front diff locked? that would produce those symptoms I think.

upon leaving the beach my brother turned them... so personally i didn't turn them... i will definitely check if he did them correctly.

thankyou

It sound as if you are thinking of the manual locking hubs, what Cossak was speaking of is a lever/button in the car you press to lock the front differential so that both front wheels turns at the same speed no matter what you do =)
