Power steering playing up

Ever since I rebuilt my PS pump and installed a hydrualic winch my power steering has been intermitant usually when under great load, like when parking or winching. This is usually solved with more revs. There is plenty of fluid and there are no leaks. Does anyone else have similar problems? Could me rebuilding the pump incorrectly cause this? Could the winch be installed incorrectly? Any thoughts would be great.

You need to take the winch out of the PS circuit to establish if it's the pump or winch plumbing that's causing the issue IMO. Maybe a valve on the winch solenoid is playing up sometimes or maybe the pressure relief valve on the PS pump is sticking ?

Looks like something I would need to do when I get back home. Will keep a close eye on it over the next 2 months and see exactly when the PS stops working.
