Project mush 80

Last couple of weeks have seen a few more mods. Cb fitted, number plate lights plummed In, usb ports and some mud gaurds to stop all the crud going in my bumper corners. Next job is a new rad which is on order. It'd end up letting me down in the worst of places if not!

New radiator fitted as the old one was about ready to let go and the antifreeze content was next to none. Got a valeo unit from one of the parts suppliers, looked and felt good quality but time will tell how it fairs against the original. Also fitted some new genuine rear door pin switches, little job but a nice finishing touch

Rad looks well Josh. How much was it?

Could have had some switches for nothing as they don't go wrong very often.

£180 all in. I was going to get a nissens one from roughtrax but they were out of stock. Ah bugger typical! Never mind eh haha

Good job there Josh changed my radiator recently so a great improvement always welcomed

Handbrake finally works! Put up without one for a few weeks but eventually had the time to strip the brakes back down. Turns out there was wear in the top rectangular piece that initially operates the shoe. This caused most of the "pull" to be lost before moving the shoe. Nice little blob of weld soon rectified this. Now there's no need for washers to adjust the cable, I think it's now an 80 with a working handbrake........

Old girl hit a milestone earlier on the way home from Edinburgh. Got to say I'm well chuffed with it on fuel. Did 480 mile in it and it worked out to be doing 28mpg! I don't thrash it mind but for however much it weighs and at 20 year old I'm well impressed

did you get the mpg returns sitting at 60 josh?

Even with the best of intentions, some way or another i always end up doing 80..

What a transformation! Finally managed to get some heavy springs, unfortunately the efs ones were out of stock so ordered the iron man 400-500kg ones from mp4x4, I have to say their service was excellent! Only took a week to come too I was impressed. So that we today job swapping the springs, also fitted my new fuse block/power distribution box in the back for the lights and fridge etc. Oh and I also got the rear winch wired up-job well done. As you can see from the before and after pics it's certainly picked the arse up a bit!

Nothing's a 2 minute job is it. All it is mounting a fridge to a slider then fitting it to the car and making the handle work. Took best part of a day...... But got there in the end. Fridge was an absolute steal. It was in the bin at work as the power cord was missing. 20 quid later the cable turned up. So that's all it cost! It's Only a 25ltr but is a proper fridge freeer made by mobicool/waeco. Oh and the slider was a "faulty" (my arse) item from work too. Amazing what you can make work out of a truck

New roof rack came yesterday, wanted one to mount the awning, oz tent and a solar panel at some point. Also handy for a reverse light and camera. Very nice and low profile just like i wanted. Well chuffed with it, from direct 4x4 at a cost of 350 delivered. Very nice quality. A pack of brackets are missing but I've emailed them and hopefully this will be resolved.

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together! There was a coule of brackets missing from the roof rack so after a quick emai they sent me a complete new fitting kit. I only needed 4 brackets now I have about 20 spares! So with these spare brackets and looking at the awning I bought of Karl months ago I had an idea (usually lethal) why not turn the roof rack mounts upside down on top of the same mount that holds it down and bolt the awning to that? Couldn't have worked out any better. Took about an hour start to finish. Excellent.
