Pyrenees 2011, 27/05-05/06, planning

All ours (including Angela's) are now here:

Gary's Pics

There's a pile of guff in there as well, which will be weeded out over the next few days

OK enough with the pictures (they do look fantastic), I feel bad enough about missing the trip
Shoulder now on the mend, only a couple of key whole marks to show for it, I was hopping for at least a dozen staples
Looks like it was a fantastic trip, scenery is just as I imagined.

Hey Julian - we were wondering how you'd got on while we were hamming it up over there without you :p

Glad to hear the repair works have gone well - shame there's no frankenstein results for you to show off with!!!

Va bene

Jon

I've got to ask! Could you do this trip with a UK spec "stock" LC100? If "no", then what is the minimum you would have to do to bring one up to the mark of Euro touring?

Most of this trip could be undertaken in a Berlingo or similar as demonstrated by the locals using the tracks!!!

An out-of-the-box Cruiser would have no difficulties with it IMHO John.

Yes, the big tyres and suspension lifts were not needed at all.

Well unfortunately, Sharon would! She has just caught me looking at the photo's and she wants to let it be known that there will be NO circumstance short of Alien Invasion, where she would be caught perched half way up a side of a mountain in ANY LC100. Jon Wildsmith is now public enemy number one (truth be told, this happened the moment they met and he managed through some miracle to silence her). She has even called these pictures 4x4 pornography and that means I'm doomed.

Now I know a few members of the opposite sex came along for the ride. It would be really helpful (to me) if they piped up and spoke out in favour of greenlaning and all things 4x4.

John

:( :violin:

I would take issue with that statement Jon - they were essential on that girliegiggle inducing period of freefall downhilling we did!!!

True but something tells me John will have to go a bit slower

"Freefalling downhill" in a LC100 are you MAD? Not me, damn right, straight up! BTW: How would you go down a steep hill in a LC100? There is a backbreaker going into Buttermere in the Lake District that I took once (with Sharon and my mother in law) in a Range Rover Classic. I can't remember how we survived to see the bottom of the hill but we did......

Those are some amazing pics Ladys and Gentlemen, Spain is just a fantastic place for off roading and there are some wonders down there. Begining to wish that I had come with you. Maybe next time ;)

Steve

One very green-faced Jimbo right here. So jealous guys, looks like you had an amazing time of it. Funny how a similar thread on a LR forum reads as a list of problems!

Finally got to sync my windows phone to the pooter & there's one or two pics on it of the trip...

Wild camping Gav style
