Benoit,
Oil pressure would suffer if the main bearings were breaking
down, the problem is, when the oil pressure suffers it is usually too
late, or is very close to really bad news.

Mine is the same - maybe a feature of the 1HD-FT?
Solution: add 1/2 litre more oil. Improves oil pressure at hot idle
and, so far as I can see, the relief valve prevents the pressure getting
too high when cold.

Lubo,
What do you mean when you say your pressure is low? The Toyota
gauge is only a guide, it is also designed to stop people worrying
about pressure. It is an old trick to use a thicker oil to improve
your oil pressure, it is also a waste of time and not good for the
engine. If your oil is thick you have a good pressure but the oil is
not circulating well. With a thinner oil your pressure drops but you
know the oil is circulating. The only thing to be concerned about is
if the pressure gauge reads differently with the same grade of oil in
the engine.

I totally agree with clive on this because when I switched from Dino to
Synth the pressure dropped quite a bit when hot.
Its like you lose a little pressure according to the dash guage but not so
much its a problem but you do increase oil flow which is really good.

Clive
what seems to be 'low' for my car is when warm the gauge is between the
first and 2nd line, when cold exactly the 3rd line.it's been so since I've
bought it and as I said it never used a drop of oil changed at 15Tkm. Even
the last time I changed the oil at Toyota they advised me not to change it
at 10tkm,but 15tkm. I use full synthetic oil from Toyota(I think it is
'Shell'')
cheers
