Anyhow, sounds like a case of draining collected water from the fuel filter. Then light goes off. Should be covered in the owner's manual.

The driver's door should have a label affixed on it describing the two scenarios for the diesel fuel filter warning light.

If the light comes on solid, the filter has restricted flow - this requires the filter to be replaced.

If the light is flashing, there is water in the canister. Stop engine immediately and flush out sedimeter trap. If water travel to the injectors, it could cause serious injector failure.

Hi There,
this is not to do with water or filter issues, this happens to my 200 , my engine has been chipped and a Roo Systems exhaust fitted also , what happens is that there is a drop in the fuel pressure in the common rail due to more fuel being sent to the squirts and the light goes on to show this.
It is easily reset by your Toyota dealer.
