Good morning y'all
Do any of you fine people know of where I can get 4 x vented discs for l'beast without having to pay =A3100 - =A3170 per disc?...all four are vented and need replacing.
Can any of you help?
Renate

Milners- that's where I got mine from. Deleivery was very quick.

I've looked at their price list - it does not stipulate whether the
discs are vented. All four of mine are and I want to keep to the same
spec if it is at all possible.
I've sent Carl an email and I'm waiting for his response. He's usually
quite good on that, however I might ring him anyway and have a chin
wag...
Thanks for your help
After getting them I'm doing them myself...well, with a little help
from my friends.

Trust me - they are vented - front and rear. To the best of my knowledge
nothing else was ever fitted to the 80 series.

I rang him and its going to cost me (inc delivering them to me) =A3217.38. Which is not bad, better than any other quotes I've been given!

Hi Guys
Now you can all laugh to your selves but and here it is what are vented
discs, I really do have a long way to go dont I. Are they the ones with
holes in them.

Hi John,
Brake disks, that rather than being solid, they have vents around the
circumference that draw air into the centre, cooling the brake surfaces on
either side.
If you see the pictures at http://www.dba.com.au/default.asp you can see
the vents on the outside of the disks.

John,
European spec do not as far as I know have LSD's. As supplied by the
factory they are electrically locking front and rear. I have no idea if
any Jap home market vehicles had LSD's fitted - someone out there let us
know please.
Regards Gareth.
PS - Enjoy your lunch & your reading !

Thanks Guys
Now I know, its another bit of info to store in my brain or as I have been
( told that hollow spot between my ears for later) The discs on my cruiser
are flat so if and when they need replacing I should get the ones with the
holes and groves for better braking power and less fatigue on all the bits,
is that correct.

Hey Roman
Im the type of fella that scans the info and then takes the main points out,
it usually works.

Look athe edge of the disk. If it's a sandwich type with spece between
the plates it's still vented disk.

John, I assume you are reffering to slotted and drilled discs, where the
holes and slots are in the pad contact area of the disc. The simple
answer is - no. Save your money and stick to standard products - they
cost enough as Renate has found today.
The standard brake system is perfectly adequate provided it is well
maintained. Within the scope of maintenance I would include a change of
brake fluid at max - every 2 years.
Don't ask why - find the answer in links I sent !!

Don't be so cruel! He's still learning, poor John.

Roman, yes sometimes I can be a bit harsh, but I am a great believer in
self-teaching. The information sinks in more if one has to find it
oneself. If John has not replied by 2.00 pm then explain the
implications of the word hy---------- to us all !!
