Rear Main Seal

Hey everyone ,

Just wondering if anyone has done the Rear Main Seal in the 80 ?
my Cruiser is a 90 Model and I need to do the seal in it , I have done many seals on previous cars I have owned most of them have been Holden V8's or a Turbos and this will be my first one on a 4B -
I think it will be pretty easy as my 80 is lifted and I have plenty of room to work but just thought I would ask and see if anyone has done the seal before

As in the propshaft input seal into the rear diff? Behind the drive flange? Easy job. No mysteries.

If you mean the rear main seal on the engine? (crank) it's quite easy after removing the gearbox and the clutch! Six bolts hold the seal retainer to the block.

Good point TP. Could that THAT rear seal. They can weep a bit.
