Rear spring coils

The later 80's had softer springs and shocks fitted. I noticed the difference the moment Jon took me for a ride in his. I don't think Toyota realised that UK cars just had one person in most of the time. Range Rover did.
 
PS A bit off topic but back in 70's 80's there was a firm in West Bromwich making springs for BMC. I was restoring a rare car which was missing springs so I took them a drawing of what I needed and they made them for £7 each. At that time there was only one type of steel used for suspension springs so all you needed was a drawing of the off loaded spring dimensions and coil thickness. If they are still going one could have ones friends springs copied lol.
