Restoration body shop repair

Why has he spliced into the tacho? Did you see my last post in your gauges thread?

It's not worked out CG so far had to put that on hold as I've got the next project being the intercooler & exhaust upgrades right now.
Something I will focus on again soon.

Thanks for your interest & help :)

Update this morning looking quite impressive the way that's it's all coming together :)

The plan to eliminate restriction flow all the way through from engine to intercooler and then intercooler to turbo is the focus here. From the turbo having their on a 3 inch exhaust Should yield the best result possible.

The intercooler size looks just perfect. It's fitment looks spot on.

It may seem a little small but it fits perfectly & in the end I feel the restrictions are more important then a few extra inches to a larger intercooler.

Yeah will do after the build finishes. I'm so happy with how good their customising the intercooler chosen.

Was best to fit the intercooler first then know after measureing for a clean accurate fit for the intake scoop chosen.

Their going to customise a 3 inch stainless exhaust now as part of this build to maximise power.

Thanks for your interest

First stage of the custom exhaust begins :)

Old one looks worst for wear more than I thought now being off the vehicle.

Also the exhaust looks very uneven in diameter across with narror restrictions.

The guys have started making the new bigger turbo flange now.

Anyone know if this exhaust is stock?

Seems its all over the place

Looking really neat, Dervis. The old system looks like a bodge-up, you're well rid of that lot.

That's what I thought too Clive. It certainly wasn't doing the car any favors.

Hopefully the car will be finished today looking forward to the new upgrades.

Thanks for your input

Today the guys sent me 3 various sound setups on audio unfortunately being on Viber & a 3PG file couldn't work out to convert & share here.

First one was a single muffler,
Second one was with a double muffler,
Thirdly a straight through.

Best sound for me was a double muffler setup being not too loud and not as sharp in tone.

Will know more when I take a drive tomorrow.

The sharpness does tone down over time Dervis, but I don't blame you for going with the quieter option, it will sound nice even at low volume

Driving it back Clive was a joy not too load plus no noise on the highway. The guys done an amazing job.

Unfortunately they couldn't start the car. It turned out the almost new injectors were dirty. After a clean from a specialist was ok to drive back. This warrants further investigation.

Noticed so far a little more ticking noise from the engine. The guy did say it would be a little more noise.

The drive back noticed more power / torque and a nice rumble. The exhaust has made a huge difference to the driving experience alone.

They modified the oil catch tank & with limited space located it on the near side inlet manifold.

The plastic enclosure is pushing up the bonnet / hood a little but hopefully will work out when they cut around that for the air guard with the scoop.

Today gonna see the Bodyshop for the next addiction to the project.

That's a top quality job there Dervis, they should market that as a kit, you'll have to let us know what it drives like power wise, oh and if it's not too much trouble could you record the noise the exhaust makes cos that kind of music is awesome, thanks.
