I forgot to add, on the way home I was doing 80 most of the way until I glanced down at the dash and saw the temp gauge not just in the red but over it so I stopped and opened the bonnet to hear bubbling noises coming from the cooling system, had a couple of fags while the engine cooled down and proceeded on my way to discover if I kept to 70 the needle stayed at normal, but if I increased speed it gradually crept up, but 70 or below, no problem one way of staying legal I suppose. Checked the coolant level once the engine was cold and there had been no loss. I think there's probably some Salisbury mud in the rad so the hose wll be applied tomorrow
Yup I would say your heating problem is too much mud on your rad. Had the same over heating issues with mine which was solved with a good cleaning of the radiator.
