Slight Steering Knock

Hearing a slight knock on my 2005 120 series steering .... will have to put it up on a ramp soon.

Anyone else encountered something similar?

Is the steering smooth or notchy? Seem to remember a known issue with the steering column... It will be in another thread on here

Over a bump or rut, it's a one off knock.

Could be worn steering rack ends/tie-rods ?
wear in steering rack itself (had this on my Hilux last year and needed new rack)

Was it the entire rack? Or part of it? Intermediate shaft?

At 18 years old its likely due new rack bushes which won't cost much from Roughtrax and any other faults will reveal themselves as you change them .

entire rack, came with new track rods. Intermediate steering shaft not replaced

Anti roll bar bushes ? easy to do and cheap .

Finally got around to visiting the garage .... looks like the steering ends and tie rods are in need of being replaced.
