Slow Power Windows - RELAY ?

Somehow I feel that a relay, 1 per window, plus some thicker feed wire
to each motor would improve matters ?
My comment about Simoniz Back to Black was serious - it has given a
noticeable increase in window speed. I guess that any silicone based
spray would have the same effect.

Gareth,
I don't think it would make a big differernce. The original wiring
looks like being capable of at least 30A current and the distance
between the fuse box and the master switch is pretty short, at least
for the D/S door. It's got to do more with the switch contacts.

Roman, maybe I misunderstood, but if the switch contacts activated a
relay in the door then they would be subject to just the relay switching
current, far less than the current to drive the windows ?
A bit like the stater motor additional relay mod I have read about for
petrol cruisers.

Gareth,
You understood correctly. On the other hand. the EOM switches do not
look like being underrated, so replacing them with another set of
switches (a relay) will only solve one problem contact resistance.
That will be OK untill the relay switches start to burn out too.
What I propose is to use new contacts (be it a relay or just a 30A
rated rocker switch) and protect the contacts with spark quenchers,

Aaahh - connect a capacitor across the contacts - just the old days of
a condensor across a set of points.
Gareth.

Gareth,
It's actually a 0.1 uF capacitor AND a 100 ohm resistor in series.
The correct item No in the Farnell catalogue is 453810 (
