Spare wheel removal

Morning all, I have a problem with my spare wheel, I can't remove it, the winding mechanisum has seized and I can't remove the wheel at all, any idea's short of grinding it off?

Have you tried spraying liberally & often with penetrating oils etc etc?

Ditto that. Same happened to mine
Fix was lubricating oils and then some grease to keep it movable for the future. My chain was badly rusted and took quite a lot of wire brushing and then treating..

On the 100 it is a cable.

Had this on mine and put the jack under the centre to take the weight and then the winder worked ok once the tension was off.
