Yes definitely off piste.

Out of all the green lanes I've driven in the UK, Strata has to be the worst in terms of people going off piste.

That said, that group messing around by the bomb hole will have done a lot less damage with it just being rocks, than some of the others who have dug all the deep ruts making there own tracks through some of the boggy sections along the edge of the right of way. Not saying its right, just they wont have scarred the landscape as badly as others have.
