Well there I was with my pen ready waiting for a web address so I could start ordering all the cool stuff, just to find out the only thing for sale is a stupid s**t car .........

First time I saw that ad I thought it was going to be some government message to use less energy and save the planet

Clever idea, but not great for advertising their cars imo. Just reminds you how most electricity is still produced - so you might as well be driving a car with a combustible engine, no?

Efficiency of the average coal power station is about 30%
Efficiency of a decent brushless motor 80%

Ignoring power losses in distribution, charging and storing electricity you have a total efficiency of just 24% which is much lower than the average internal combustion engine (about 40%). Makes you wonder why they are "green"
