Hi to All,

I have Toyota Land Cruiser 2001 GXR, 6 Cyl. purchased it 2nd Hand Last Winter, that time I installed the Thermostat and the Temperature Gauge without A/C shows at 60º and with A/C 70º
Now as summer started ( and its the begining, outside temperature is 40C and will reach 50C) the temperature gauge shows without A/C at 85 º and with A/C shows at 95º or 100º sometimes

when I open the bonnet its too hot that can not touch any part, so will it not damage the rubber parts such a seals and brake master cylinder kit, I am planning to remove the thermostat in summer, please advise

Would be easier to help you with more knowledge about your car. Please update your profile and get a signature line. Location, milage, mods...

6-cylinder means either 1FZ (Petrol), 1HZ, 1HD-T or 1HD-FTE. Guessing European market, so likely to be 1HD-FTE.

Possible causes include:
1 - Fan belts (runs pump as well) There are two of them
2 - Fan clutch not "tightening up" as it heats up. Not uncommon.
3 - Water pump faulty

Better to keep thermostat, as the engine prefers operating at over 80 ´C.

Which thermometer do you have that indicates temperature in degrees?

Thanks uHu for the info :violin:

The fan belt is OK, I think I need to check the Clutch when its hot.
