Roof rack options in the UK? 2022 LC 150(Prado)
Have found three that I am considering.
https://upcountry4x4.co.uk/.../Big-Country-Roof-Rack...
https://www.4x4works.co.uk/.../arb-base-rack-toyota-land.../
https://www.4x4works.co.uk/.../front-runner-toyota-prado.../
Any others I should be looking at? Maybe load bars? Primary purpose being to mount an awning and to carry a few accessories.
Any difference in mpg and what about wind noise?
Folks who can share their personnel experience would be much appreciated.

HI

I have the Frontrunner rack on my 120. I love it apart from the paint has not weathered well.

I put a big country on my 120, it’s still going strong I believe. Now have another on the 100. Preferred over the FrontRunner as the slats are longitudinal and reduce wind noise a bit…. Very strong platform, but not cheap. Patriot for UK made racks, check them out.

Thanks Gary. I can see why longitudinal slats might help with noise but does it effect how you mount kit?

I guess ‘it depends’ really. You may need to drill into it, or maybe fit stuff slightly off-centre. Don’t think it makes too much difference rally, just maybe plan carefully?

I had a Front Runner rack and agree the finish is poor, particularly the corner pieces which corrode badly. mine did whistle a lot but I had a light bar fitted which meant the wind deflector didn’t fit. In favour of Front Runner is their accessory mount systems and brackets which are excellent and lots of options.

Rhino rack do a quality platform if they do one to suit the 150. West Coast have some very different design ones from Acayx.

I can vouch for the Big Country rack. Got one on my 100 and it's great. I'd like it even move it it was a bit longer. With my Bundhutop on it there nowhere for anything else..

Another + for the Big Country is it really is quite a low profile, just as well because it only just clears my up and over garage door..

No not now, that's my homeland, now resident in sunny Scotland :)

Was back in Zim fishing in November, will head back again next year for more I hope

I saw the Tiger, nice fish.

Where about in Scotland , I'm originally from Blairgowrie

Spend most of the year in Hertfordshire, but get to spend some of the winter I Zim..

Just a wee update for everyone. I went with the ARB Base Rack. Now fitted and very happy with it. No difference in MPG and no discernible wind noise. I did fit the wind deflector. So so far so good.
