what does this "tap" marked "H" do for aircon?

wondering what this valve does marked "H" see attached photo - part of aircon, but whats its function?

Hi Andy

Its not a tap as you put it ! its the dust seal for the air-con, just unscrew it and it will allow you to connect a
a pipe to re-gas the system, you will also find one with a "L" on it

The "L" and "H" signifies the low and high side for re-gassing it
 
ah! - thanks!

when i was changing coolant, i twiddled it a bit, then thought - better not incase i drained the aircon gas!
so its only a dust cover - phew!

havent spotted the "L" one yet

Its down on the near side of the motor:

If you ever use one of those DIY refrigerant top-up bottles . . . That's where it connects.
