There seems to be what looks like a guard on the drivers side drive shaft/ cv joint that looks like it is supposed to stop crap getting in there.
1. Is that what it is
2. How is it supposed to be fastened on
3. Does it need to be there
It's loose on my truck and causes the car to sometimes shudder and squeal and today it kicked in the skid control and felt like it got jammed between the back of the disk and wouldn't let me turn left. Any ideas
