Who is doing what maintenance today?

ineos grenadier..

Ha but no.

Ok I'll put you out of...

It's my 250, I got it in October last year but haven't used it over the winter in order to wait for dry warm weather. It's been on my signature since then.
On the basis that Cruisers in general are not well painted/ protected underneath I thought I'd give it another 2 or 3 coats to overcome the sandblasting effect of all the road dust and salt from our roads.
Well down the line someone will appreciate the lack of underbody rust but it's not something everyone thinks about or does.
Toyota could well take a lesson from VW about underbody protection, the 20 year old Touareg I had was pretty rust free underneath.

Some of you knew I'd got it, and a few knew I had said I was getting one. This was one of the first released and it's only a couple of weeks ago they got their second. I ordered it on the day they were announced on the second of August 2023 so waited 14 and a half months for it.

I like the look of them, especially the round headlight versions.

That must have taken some will power to not drive a brand new car! Be interested to hear how you get on with it!

You're my/our hero keeping it away from the roads till the better weather and for doing what you are, dare say most of us here if we could aspire to a brand new Cruiser would get straight to some proper corrosion prevention, because well lets face it rust is just about the only thing that kills them.
I had my new Hilux pro rustproofed in 2007, seeing the finished job sent me down the road of always treating my own ever since.

I have a humble suggestion for you.
Start a new stand alone thread for your new Cruiser, not to show it off as such but to show what can and ought to be done at the factory or import centre (Portbury) and in the fullness of time, with annual underbody pics, it will get brought to the attention of the suits at Toyota, might gain the attention of the head man himself.
Its in all our interests for Toyota to actually do something about underbody protection, even if only to vehicles destined for countries and areas that use excessive salt on the roads, a ''sticky'' thread especially, dare say the mods would be helpful here, would draw attention.

When you've decided on paints etc will you be proofing the cavities, body as well as chassis?
