Then come the sanctions which may not bother him much but they will China because their entire strategy revolves around selling to the western world .

What the Ukraine produces can be produced pretty much anywhere .

Our sanctions will have bugger all affect on Putin......he's already got his personal super yacht away from it's German ship yard before it could be seized..... I learnt from a very young age not bother my head about politics or war or whatever. And given the UK involvement with the US to go into Irag achieved what.......well nothing really, so I never voted for war with a country that were no threat to us, in fact I guess it has made the place less safe than what it was? Lot's of soldiers/innocent people lost their lives for what....well the answer again seems to be nothing?

Further, I have always said that a political parties manifesto should be written into law. You vote'X' party in because you have been promised whatever BS you will fall for and that is that, they get get in and the maifesto goes out of the window.

So I am one of those people who voted just the once because there was 'rumours' about the NHS being taken over by private companies if the Conservatives got in, Labout got in and the next thing I know I am delivering hard core to a new 'NHS' hospital, and in fact it was being built with private money, the wards were designed to be pulled down after 'X' amount of years and made into apartments. And the land it was built on.......wasteland highly contaminated that locals were told they could not exten their gardens into it because it was so bad. And there was me reversing a 32 ton eight legger on this land and having to be pulled out by two JCB's because it was true, the ground was rubbish, but OK to build a hospital on. My wife at the time was a nurse and she popped out to have a quick smoke when on night duty, staff shortages were super low, unknown to the 'other' nurse, that's right one other nurse my wife had fallen down the stairs and smashed her ankle, she lay there unconcious for ages, the results were she lost her leg!

So unless you were shall we say one of the elite, no matter who you were, and regardless of what you vote for given the manifesto the politicians will do what they like....period.

I am so glad I spent more time worrying if the V8 I had just put in a MK 1 Escort was going to tear the front off.

I don't waste any time worrying about politics Dave its just a mildly interesting distraction from the daily .

Some have Emmerdale , Crossroads and the like to watch if their not depressed enough and others prefer to scroll through tic tock so fast that the images never make it into memory .

No passion in my posts just idle observation , points of conversation . I suppose i used to study people but that got boring so i rarely see anyone any more . Conversation thats all it is .

Last minute plan changed and I cancelled holiday in UK and came to Spain today. It’s amazing place. Also beautiful place to drive.
Just thinking, what will war do, for us travelers, we might loose opportunity to visit some more good places on the planet. Russia is big nation sharing boarders with Europe, the mess might spill all over Europe.

Slightly off topic, but re Crossroads.... I vaguely remember that the squadies got told off for referring to the Falkland Islanders as "Bennies" back in the day.... so they started calling them SBs instead (SB = Still Bennies). Anyone confirm this?!?
