Your Car History - Just for a bit of fun

Hmm. Might be a pattern in here. Oddly no Fords to be seen. A few Toyotas though.

Fiat 127 903
Fiat X-19 1.5 Targa (most fun ever)
Mini Special 12G295, double valve springs, central oil pick up bored out to 1203 blah blah (fell to bits)
Toyota Starlet
Toyota Corolla GTi (loverly)
Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0 GLS (in dealers more than on my drive)
Toyota Land Cruiser Colorado (beige)
Kia Sorento 2.5 XS
Toyota Landcruiser 120 (LC3)
Toyota Avensis T180
Toyota Land Cruiser Colorado (Lil Blue)
Toyota Land Cruiser 80
Toyota Verso T Spirit

Not that many, but I bet that all those that start with a T are still running.

Worst car probably the Saab. Stupidly fast but a total heap of sh1t. Followed by the E61 BMW for reliability generally (it was fantastic when it was working, which wasn't very often). Best car probably the BMW 525iX followed by the E46 330Ci. Honda was good but just plain naff. LC120 has been fantastic so far and a real eye-opener.

Alfa GTV
Saab 900 carlsson (sorry bout all the Saabs - familly thing)
Rover 3.5 SDI  Must have looked like a pimp! I was only 20ish

Last time I had a detailed count, my 50th Anniversary LC was my 50th car (started at 14, in my 40's now). I'm sure there were others... Wonder what outstanding mechanical experiences folk have had?

I've most enjoyed working on my current LC - gone a little mad with this recently, also enjoyed doing an engine rebuild and renewing hyraulic suspension on my 2 X.M's (did I list them?).

This list was in order of ownership, the worst car was the Hillman Imp, it had a Neil Davis racing conversion fitted with lowered suspension it used to go like sh1t off a shovel but it was always going wrong, I replaced the head gasket three times, the clutch twice and the gearbox once, I can't remember the other failures now but there were many :angry-screaming: . The best car was probably the Supra, it was a stormer (145mph on the M40 :naughty: ). The first two Toyotas I owned both developed the same fault after three years motoring, a rear tail light bulb blew, must have been a design fault
I know I have owned 33 cars so I have obviously forgotten three :confusion-confused: .
The best bike was the California  (so comfortable) closely followed by the Pegaso, that was the perfect bike for commuting in London traffic, the Honda I only sold because I was either going to lose my licence or my life on it (also 145mph on the M40 :naughty: ) I do miss the biking  but after a slight stroke a few years ago my sense of balance was affected, Im OK sitting down in the Cruiser but I didn't think biking was a good idea anymore.

Most of these lists look like the annual work-sheet for a small garage.

In order of appearance:
1966/1970 1000cc Morris Mini Van. Great fun.
1970 Corona MkII sedan, 1900cc, 130 bhp
1878 Corona Estate, 2000cc, 12x bhp
1966 Volvo B57-60 (50 seater). Still got this one as camper. Never trouble.
1985 Tercel 4wd estate. 1400cc. Great little car.
1993 Corolla sedan 1600
1997 LC80, HZJ80 GX. Should never have sold it. :(
2000 LC100, HDJ100 VX. Dented frame 2009.
1997 Mondeo estate. Petrol 2000cc?. Temp replacement. Great car in fact. Still got.
2004 LC100, HDJ100 VX. Perm replacement.

That's 7 T0yotas in a row. 7 out of 9 cars. Make that 7 out of 8 as the mondeo was just something dirt cheap with wheels that I inherited.

I forgot one car, Aston Martin Vanquish  (in my dreams)
