1KD Engine Fault Code ( but not in a Land Cruiser)

Hi,

Not quite a LC but my Toyota Dyna fitted with a 1KD engine, so maybe some of you 90 owners can comment, its a 2008 with 170,000 miles.

I have a fault code resulting in the EML coming on and going into limp mode, the code is P1272, if I cancel the code it may stay off for a few days but then come back on again, Google has not given a clear answer.

I have recently brought the truck and can not comment on any build up to this problem or what may have or have no been tried, are the fault codes the same across all the 1KD engines or are they vehicle specific?

Can anyone help?

I had quick conversation with my local Toyata agent and they advise me that this code is a fuel pressure problem.

If I cancel the fault it will stay off while driving and I have not had it come back on whilst the engine is running, however it will come back on only when stopped then restarted, not every time maybe one in 5 times.

I have asked my local dealer for a diagnostics shake down but I can t get in till the end of next week.

Anyone give me any ideas?
