Hi i have a 1992 HD 81 and I am thinking of fitting a 24v inverter . but not sure if there is a 24 v feed . it is a 2.500 w inverter so .if I fit a 24 v then I will only need 100 amp wire but if I fit a 12 v I would need to use 200 amp wire

The simple answer is No, there is no 24v except during the second or so of starting the engine. So no good for an inverter.

Sounds like a job for a Honda inverter generator.

I would go with the 12v inverter, 200 amp wire is not too thick to run under the car in a flexible tube and bring it up just behind the rearmost seats.

regards
