This one’s for sale near me. I spoke to the owner who used it for his shoots until one of the beaters put it in a ditch and broke the Diff which he replaced before laying it up in a barn for 8 years.

He seems realistic and says the engine and rad are good. There’s rust and dents to most panels. He seems quite keen for it to live on in the hands of someone who’ll restore it or use it as a donor car. It was white originally and has recently been running. Diesel manual. Chassis looks to be not too bad but I didn’t see more than the pics below.

Mmmmn, its got a certain, how you say..patina ......

Well beyond economic restoration.
How much is he expecting for it?

It may yield some useful spares but its well past saving that one

This is what I thought.
As I say, the seller is realistic in his expectations regarding price which was not specifically discussed.

I would like a vehicle to strip but sadly nowhere to keep it at the moment.

There needs to be one with a good body and rotten chassis to make one good one but I would imagine that to be like finding a hen with gold teeth sitting astride a rocking horse, mid-poo!

For the money you would have to sink into that, just get a decent one in the first place!!

I guess thats always the dilemma, No one wants to part with Money for a scrapper.. And there's always the sharp intake of breath when someone mentions the asking price for a Minter...

Good ones are still not that expensive, unless you’re in America. Certainly compared to the cost of trying to renovate one that bad.
There’s been plenty of good ones for under £10k

Nothing is beyond repair if you have the skills , time and money but unless you have all three buying the best you can afford to start with makes far more sense .

Indeed, but I said 'economic repair'
This would cost tens of thousands, even if you could do the work yourself
