ABS light on dash - trailer brake light bulb?

ABS light came on today and went off when engine turned off.

seemed to be linked to a dodgy bulb on my trailer - i hope?
could a dodgy brake light (on trailer) make the ABS light come on?
trailer lighting is wired to that special plug in the jack/tool compartment in back

I had exactly the same problem and thought it was related to a sensor as front pads had been replaced by the garage and I had fitted airbags, so something may have been damaged. Chanced upon this thread and lo and behold dodgy earth in the trailer light. I then realised it was always when I was braking and turning left. It always cleared when I turned the engine off and restarted and spookily didn't happen when I was on the way home from the recycling. Of course there are no left turns on the way home.

It beats me why it causes an ABS fault. Hopefully this post will be of some help to someone else.
