The compressor for my aircon (1991 HDJ-81) has been in a cardboard box since I bought it, I have no plans to reinstall it and the only thing the pipes and other aircon gubbins seem to be doing is getting in the way whenever I want to work in the engine bay.
Aside from the two obvious things - not having aircon and never having a functional console fridge - are there any major drawbacks to removing the whole system?
