Avalanche meet 6,7,8th august take 2.

Lets hope the rain holds off Jacob...

Thanks Gav and James for arranging the weekend, just gutted I could only make it Saturday and Sunday. All I can say when’s the next one? Also nice to catch up with some old friends and make some new ones, especially after the last 12 months and the lockdowns. And thanks for the brake pipe construction masterclass from @fbnss.

Reactions: Raj
Gav & James, thanks for organising this - truly an amazing weekend!
Our first trip out with you all - Dea, Isaac and I have never felt so welcome.
Learnt so much from you all and a lot of really useful kit suggestions and tricks have been shared.
@JonFJ1969 mentioned a great idea of a spares list for our LC's that would be beneficial to bring to such events - cracking Idea - I'll start a thread in the LC100 section if other care to do the same for other truck sections.
Hoping I can get some good footage of the trucks in action from the air next time, was just too gusty to safely fly around this weekend.
Looking for a SWB truck for Isaac, he can't wait to hit 17 now :)

Great to meet you all and look forward to seeing you all again in another field or muddy track soon.

P.S - lil bit of footage playing in a puddle :) Sorry James - hope we did not splash you!

Sunset pics r great. That’s another self recovery method for me- sitting alone with cam n take nature n animal/bird photography- was bit hesitant to capture emotions of lovely pets there. Will try that next time n leave my car to one of you to take off road :)

Raj, that was sunrise on Saturday morning..take photos man, everyone sees the world slightly differently

Removed the bash plate testerday, all nasty vibrations of evilness stopped. Just took the dash apart and found the plug was off the back of the locker switch which is how I got a bit stuck and dismounted ungracefully on those bumpy things..just need to attack that rear output shaft seal thing..already had one as it's been leaking for...um...a while. But never more than just looking a bit damp round it. It clearly pissed a fair bit out on the drive home to cover the orop and diff in that wonderfully fragrent oil. And Trev, your exhaust has lowered the temps inside my cabin by at least 15 degrees id say. No more sitting on a hot exhaust, woo woo!

I stuck some sections of rubber matting on the inside of my bash plate. It was touching in places so I added spacers but it still resonated. The rubber sheeting dampened that out completely.

It's the first it's happened, but then it's the first time I've had the whole weight of it sitting on the bash plate, think it's a tiny bit bent, just gonna space it out a bit more... Although I do have some off cuts of sound deadening.
