I got myself into a bit of bother a week or so ago, when I carelessly let the winch line bunch up at one end of the drum.
It forced the tie-bars apart, breaking the casting on the left side both top and bottom, and even the casting on the right side is now cracked in the same place, due to the tie-bars ‘rotating’ slightly.
It’s a 12 year old Superwinch 9.0, it’s had a hard life and owes me nothing.
I’m not a machinist and neither do I have any ‘proper’ repair type equipment. Does anyone have any suggestions, other than the only option I have of buying a new winch?
