These really are the mutts dangly bits. I cant wait to get one mounted in a bumper. Tested it today on the bench with 300kg sited similarly to a spare and the action was sooooo smooth. a quick flick with 1 finger and it revolved a full 360 degrees with no perceivable run out. The effort that my machinist and I have gone to is immense tolerances to me usually means 4 or 5 mm but this thing is down to 0.02mm.
The spindle runs the length of the outer tube which is shouldered to sit on the bumper. Top bearing is recessed into the "top hat"and then all covered by the machined weather seal which is pressed onto the spindle.
I know I am sad but things like this really float my boat(don't take much. lol)
