Ok boss,
Just hard to adjust to NOT hitting REPLY and changing the subject line.
(This one is a fwd - see if that works any better)
What u mean that measly bit of list s/w has its own tracking stuff based on
some of the hidden (email) tags and not going by subject?

Hi Brendan,
How about starting the new thread with a new message rather than
replying to one and then changing the subject line!!!

Hi Brendan,
It is part of the email standards - when you reply to a message, a new line
is added to the header.
For example, your message has the ID:
Message-ID: <[Email address removed]>
This message will have in the header:
In-Reply-To: <[Email address removed]>
My mail software is one of the few proper threading programs that observes
the standards, many of the modern packages don't do it. It also provides the
advantage of filing all the messages into a folder and then when I hit the
new message button, it automatically adds in the email address for me so I
only need to enter the subject.
On the new web system, I will work on the same format, but if the subject
changes ignore the In-Reply-To: line in the header.

Hi Roman,
My email software (Virtual Access) works a little like that with the
screen split with the thread list in the top half and the messages
viewed below.
I have tried to mimic it a bit for the web forums that I have created -
I have attached a screen shot of a prototype that I put together a
couple of years ago for another client, but things have moved on a bit
from there.
