close encounter with a Minke Whale

nearly capsized in my Kayak today in the Moray Firth, when a Minke whale surface 25m away
here is a photo of its friend - further away!
they were a lot longer than my kayak!

Nice one. Bet it was a bit of a shock and awe inspiring at the same time!


It reminds me of when I took my boat out and ended up travelling along about 2 miles offshore surrounded by a pod of dolphins. They jumped over the bow of the boat and swam alongside for about 4 miles. Fantastic experience.
