Before the recent trip out with @Rodger I glanced through my EGB and was surprised at what I had not listed above.
Sun protection cream.
4 small tubes of superglue, great for gluing skin, hurts like hell but very effective.
Tissues for superglue tears
Paracetamol
Hemacranial (Migraine pills)
Cotton wool buds for fire starting, and of course if I start to get blisters from rubbing sticks together I can use one of the two lighters I have.
A couple of safety razors.
Note pad
Permanent marker
Spare reading glasses.
A very very sharp knife.
So easy to go overboard, I had thought about a satellite phone, and one of those PLB devices, I noted the EPIRB devices but apparently they are more for marine use, need to look into that a bit more?
I think where you go and if you travel in a group will dictate your purchase.
I always say when I expect to return and the general area I will be in, perhaps a better idea would be those boat emergency flares? They can be seen for miles by someone looking for you.
Regards
Dave
