Gone and bought one

Matt you're very welcome. All in all that's a very tidy cruiser you have there. Few memchanical bits to do and some cosmetics here and there but it's as solid as a rock and extremely tidy throughout. Also sounds awesome.

Well after my last thread asking what to look for when buying a 80 Series, I went to look at a few ropey diesels before travelling down to Norfolk to look at a Petrol with Lpg converison and ended up buying it. Its has been well looked after with a good service history and was in far better condition that the 3 I had been to see last month with only 124k miles and handful of owners. It took me 5 hours to drive back to Holmfirth but was well worth the trip.

Its got a Zavoli multi point LPG system with Valve saver and a 100litre tank underneath so will do roughly 200 miles to a tank. Really happy with it but it does need a few little niggles sorting out. Its booked in for a little bit of paint but I also need the rear brakes looking at and a small oil leak checking.
Is there any garages or specialists in the Yorkshire area that anyone can recommend?

I know Overland Cruisers come highly recommended on here but its miles away from me.
From Holmfirth myself just up at Scholes, got a 95 Colorado in blue k reg il keep an eye out for you buddy.
i use turner bros as they deal a lot with 4x4s,go and see Nigel he's a good lad and its family run.

Sorry Chris must admit I skipped the posts when I posted that above ,never knew you fixed other people's motors buddy if I only knew that I'd of rather put work your way buddy,I'm wanting a few bits done on mine if your interested as struggling to do stuff now and would be glad to know it's a forum member doing it,like I said turner bros are good on 4x4s but they are working on (dare I say it ) land rovers,so someone who knows toyotas like your self is a massive help.

Noooo, don't worry about that. Generally I don't fix other people's cars and I am not looking for work. I just like to help out where I can and there are bits that generally speaking independent garages just don't understand and won't get right. Not without really knowing the vehicle like we do. Front axles is a classic example.

With the work I did this weekend, there was also a lot of explaining on how other jobs needed to be done. That way the owner can make sure that the garage or whoever has a bit of guidance on how to approach the work. I'm sure that Turner bros are more than capable but it's better if you know what it is they supposed to be doing

It's like I've got a slight bang when backing off the path,so I thought must be one of the rear bushes but they say all fine and can't see anything wrong, but I know they must be something.

Could it be handbrake shoes sticking and giving a clunk when releasing? If you can, try it over night without handbrake and see if you get the clunk.

Thanks for reply starcruiser, mines an auto and on flat so never really use handbrake and only just done them.need to get it on a ramp really and have a good look at the rear bushes as they don't look like they have been changed in a while.

Watch out for steel sleeves on the bushes many (including the garage that did mine) spend hours fighting to get the rubber out only to realize they have to cut the sleeve out anyway .

Il let the garage know that if i need to get them changed, cheers Shayne,oh how's the headlights buddy.
